Container Grading

Our container grading system gives you a clear picture of each container's condition—from brand-new, factory-fresh builds to older units with visible wear or structural concerns.

Each grade is designed to help you select the right container for your needs, ensuring transparency and confidence in your purchase.

Grade A Container
Standard:
Meets cargo-worthy minimum requirements and includes a valid CSC Plate.
Interior:
At least 80% free of marks, with only minor scuffs or scratches.
Floor:
Clean with minimal stains; scratches are shallow (no deeper than 2mm).
Exterior:
May show slight surface corrosion and negligible denting.
Examples:
Near-new, refurbished, or lightly used containers.
Grade B Container
Standard:
Either cargo-worthy or wind/watertight; may or may not include a valid CSC Plate.
Interior:
At least 50% free of marks, though expect some scuffing, scratches, and minor surface rust.
Floor:
May have visible stains or marks and minor delamination.
Exterior:
Corrosion and dents are more noticeable, with a few minor repairs or patches possibly visible.

Grade C Container
Standard:
Structural condition can range from cargo-worthy or wind/watertight to “as-is” (with or without a valid CSC Plate).
Interior:
Exhibits extensive markings, scratches, and corrosion.
Floor:
Stained or marked with moderate delamination.
Exterior:
Significant corrosion with multiple dents, often accompanied by several previous repairs or patches.
Grade D Container
Standard:
Sold “as-is” without a valid CSC Plate.
Interior:
Suffer from extensive corrosion and may have holes.
Floor:
Heavily stained with pronounced delamination.
Exterior:
Typically represents containers with major damage.
